The Bihar Development Collective is a joint initiative of individuals who hold equal passion, zeal, competencies and belief towards strengthening the current development ecosystem of Bihar and thereby make a conscious attempt to change the different narratives of Bihar, through initiating qualitative dialogues, supporting peer groups, creating and sharing the stories that matter, creating various cross learning & sharing platforms and engaging constructively with different stakeholders. Sometimes it can be referred to as a “Hub”
This collective will evolve with the time, adding multiple functionalities by holding a very structured process that caters to the needs of the hour but has a clear vision to “Strengthen development ecosystem”. In a different sense, only this doesn’t matter that how many trees are we growing in the garden but what also matters & the most is if they all are giving us heathy fruits. Changing the narrative and strengthening the ecosystem is at the core of each initiative.
To accelerate development work and help foster the upliftment/strengthening of local development ecosystem in Bihar, it would require having multiple multidirectional approaches as well as efforts. To highlight what we have done in past and what we have at present, we need to show-up, demonstrate and ensure that people from different walks are acknowledged.
There are many individuals and organizations that are doing phenomenally good work at the grassroots and have a reach in deep remote areas. They are working in the deep realm of state from many years without any expectations/acknowledgement, contributing actively towards betterment of society. Now is the time to give them their deserving voice and identity. We need to build a collaborative platform, where such initiatives are recognized, documented & people are given spaces to come out of their isolation and many more. This is expected to shape the forthcoming future by “Changing the narrative”
Taking first steps, we need to identify key community leaders & institutions which understand and believe in the value of unity, share a deep sense of belongingness to state & agency within, and hold themselves accountable and have shared vision towards betterment of the state. Such entities & individuals need to unite at one platform where they are able to know each other, create mutually collaborative opportunities for each other, thereby developing a collective of “actelectuals” (Intellectuals who Act) and join hands to give each other strengths, support and confidence to collectively build and grow together.
